I know a politician can’t open her mouth in front of a large crowd without pandering, but Hillary, speaking to the Congressional Black Caucus, has outdone herself by proposing a $5,000 “baby bond” for every newborn.  You can read the article here:

There is much to say about this proposal, and one hardly knows where to [...]

Books on the Night Stand

I tend to read a lot of different books at one time.  Here is what I am currently reading:
I am reading The Magician’s Nephew, by C. S. Lewis, to Christopher.  This is the sixth book in The Chronicles of Narnia, but it is first chronologically, and is listed first in many modern printings of the series.  [...]

Yes, I know I am an evil right-wing Republican conservative nut-job, and I am not supposed to care about the environment.  But here is a surefire way for the City of Erie to save money and reduce it’s carbon footprint.
80% of all Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority  buses, including the Bayliners, should be sold and replaced with [...]

Last night at about 3 a.m. I heard kids hanging out in my driveway.  Once in awhile, they would run across my yard, and they were smoking and talking.  Other than the f-word, my daughter heard one of them say “when I was arrested…”  I didn’t feel like I was in any danger, but I figured they [...]

4 Questions for My Atheist Visitor

Joe,
Since you have taken my advice and started using proper punctuation, I have decided to give you a post of your own.  Consider yourself honored beyond what you deserve.  I was a teen-age atheist once, so I am curious about your non-belief.  Anyhow, I have a few questions for you as a self-described “non believer [...]

Osama Bin Laden Dyed

Yes, that was a lame pun.  No, I am not apologizing.
Osama bin Laden’s latest video is not particularly newsworthy.  Aside from the call for Americans to convert to Islam, it could have been written by the loony left of the Democratic Party.  (He even mentioned Global Warming.)  Oh, yes, and unlike Democrats, Osama promises that if [...]

We Americans need to learn that lots of people in the world do not think like we do.
For example, this is part of the airline maintenance program at Nepal Airlines.
